Our Full Time courses aim to provide our students with the necessary skills and qualifications to meet the demands of 21st century IT technology. We are an approved examination centre for OCR CLAIT exams Level I, II and III and we have a phenomenal pass rate.

 

We offer the following courses:

Certificate in Computer Literacy & IT 

Diploma in Graphics & Web Design 

Diploma in Computer Literacy & IT 

Diploma in Computer & IT Teacher Training

 

 

The Certificate programme provides a good starting point in the IT field. The syllabus is designed from the Basic to Intermediate level including the introduction of computing for complete beginners.

 

The early stage in this programme provides students with the fundamentals of Computing and Microsoft Office packages. This will offer students knowledge and training to work in an office and also to gain entry to Diploma in Graphics & Web Design course.

 

Duration: 1 year

Fees: £1200

Start Dates: Scheduled dates throughout the year

Class Times: 9am to 12pm, 12pm to 3pm, 3:30pm to 6:30pm (Monday to Friday)

Entry Requirements: Good command of English Language.

 

What you will study:

  • Typing

  • Fundamentals in Computing

  • Operating System Concepts and its Importance (Windows Vista)

  • Disk Management

  • File Management

  • Office Packages 2007:

    - Microsoft Word

    - Microsoft Excel

    - Microsoft Access

    - Microsoft Power Point

  • HTML – Stage I

  • Internet Technologies

 

Assessment: Students will be assessed by a combination of coursework and OCR exams. During this course students have to pass OCR CLAIT I and CLAIT II Certificate Level in the following subjects:

  • Integrated e-Document Production (compulsory)

  • Manipulating Spreadsheets and Graphs

  • Creating and Using a Database

 

Our Diploma in Graphics and Web Design programme provides the tools to learn and work with Graphics, Desktop Publishing and Web Design. This is a 1 year course and students who completed the Certificate in Computer Literacy & IT course can join directly to this programme.

 

This will offer students knowledge and training to work with graphics, computer art and web packages and also to gain Diploma level qualification in OCR CLAIT I & II.

 

Duration: 1 year

Fees: £1500

Start Dates: Scheduled dates throughout the year

Class Times: 9am to 12pm, 12pm to 3pm, 3:30pm to 6:30pm (Monday to Friday)

Entry Requirements: Good command of English Language and completion of Certificate in Computer Literacy & IT course. Students who wish to enrol but have not studied and do not wish to study the Certificate course can enrol as long as they pass internal exams in all the subjects of Certificate course.

    - Photoshop CS

    - Illustrator CS

    - InDesign CS

    - Flash MX

  • Web Design:

    - FrontPage/Dreamweaver MX

    - HTML - Stage II

    - Scripts

 

Assessment: Students will be assessed by a combination of coursework and OCR exams. During this course students have to pass OCR CLAIT I and CLAIT II Diploma Level in the following subjects:

  • e-Image Manipulation

  • Website Creation

 

* Please note: Students who have joined this course but have not studied our Certificate course and taken the relevant exams will have to take the relevant exams to achieve Diploma qualification.

This programme is designed to train professionals to create and develop tools in Information Technology to identify problems and apply solutions in teaching computing and IT.

 

Duration: 2 years

Class Times: 9am to 12pm, 12pm to 3pm, 3:30pm to 6:30pm (Monday to Friday)

Entry Requirements: Good command of English Language and completion of Certificate in Computer Literacy + Diploma in Graphics and Web Design courses or completion of Diploma in Computer Literacy course. Students who wish to enrol but have not studied and do not wish to study the courses above can enrol as long as they pass internal exams in all the subjects of the courses above.
